repair the door lock actuator
repair the door lock actuator
The door lock nut on my 89 max can not move with other nuts when I open or lock the driver side door. It should move, but it did not for a while. I had planed to buy a new acturator, but it needed 30 bucks or so with shipment on the ebay. So I just removed the acturator and fixed it. Fortunately, the small motor inside the actuator works well, just the sprocket inside the actuator was overturned and blocked because some of the teeth of the sprocket bald. Following are the steps and pics:
1. disassemble the actuator. remove those gears until the o-shape fastening ring appear(pic1-pic6).
2. remove the o-shape fastening ring(pic7). check the teeth.
3. sticking the o-shape fastening ring with the base sprocket with glue.
4. install all parts. use the acturator after 1 hour for the glue drys.
