Your new alternator could be defective... It happened to me with a rebuilt from AutoZone. Also fix that tensioner bolt ASAP.

ok..i bought a rebuilt 1 on sunday (cuz i needed it bad)but i still have receipt.i still have my other alternator i took out!!..i will go 2 autozone 2morrow at 8 am an get it checked if my alternator is defective!!...but it is definitely a power problem! the tensioner bolt is broke where u tighten it> but it still has 75% of that long screw intact tight on the pulley but still intact still connected so will that cause this?btw if the battery is holdin a charge on its own for a few minut6es.. could it still be defective....thanx for the info..

A bad alternator can take out your battery. At least a couple times I've changed alternators on cars I have owned, within a couple days I've had to replace the battery.

^ Sheesh. Make sure to have them test Alt #2 before you install it and fine out it's DOA as well. A new battery would be a good purchase, as well.

sometimes your battery can be so dead that no matter if the alt. worked or not, the car would die. I would recommend a new battery, since winter is upon us.

I figured you'd end up buying a battery too.
