Well more or less lately ive noticed the car has become a bit sluggish. So i started playing around with my safc2 to see if i could see anything wrong. Well i was looking at the knock setting, and you know how it gets you to set the knock at 1500 and 3550rpm. Well at idle my knock was at 60. Much higher then it normally is, and im wondering if this can be the cause to my occasional sluggish performance. I do have a engine knock, now i am not sure if it is bearing or lifter related, it is very difficult to tell where it is coming from, but i personally have not heard this engine ping since i took off the injunk intake.
What i am thinking is the knock sensor is picking up the engine knock and retarding timing. Its kinda hard to measure my ignition timing at work with the consult because i cant bring it home and the techs always need it so i cant really go for a good drive. At idle my timing is at 15BTDC.
How accurate is the knock feature on the safc/vafc? I guess it could be picking up interference with a lot of things, but right now im just trying to figure out why its sluggish and why i have a initial hesistation/buck when i go WOT. IT kinda hiccups then goes, and if im in 2nd or any gear at like 2200rpm i put my foot down to start going i get a couple of hiccups then it goes.
My intake manifold is clean, my TB is clean, my IACV is clean, and i recently replaced my ECTS. Spark plugs are approx 30K miles old, compression is good, all cylinders where within 190-195PSI. Does loose oil, stupid timing cover is leaking but from what i can tell it does not burn oil.

Man sad to say but your knock sensor is bad. i had the same problem also.It just reads what your ecu is reading. you dont change the setting of it.

Ahh damn. Well what i also noticed is my CEL would randomly come on then go off, and my obd2 reader at home is being a *****..the damn thing never works when i need it. I have a strong suspicion it was, my gas mileage has gotten BAD..i thought it was maybe because i had it re-tuned, but im struggling to get 220 miles to a tank and im not driving it that hard either. I replaced the knock sensor about 2 years ago, at about 260,000kms, its now at 312,000kms so it wouldnt surprise me, i got the KS off ebay anyways, i guess ill check the resistance of it and see if it truly is bad.
thanks man i really appreciate the help.
