Taking off Dashboard problems

I am trying to take off the dashboard in order to get to the guages and change my lights. I ran to a problem and can not pull the dash off no matter what I do, I have been following the guide but are there any screws under the steering wheel and dash that im missing or something? It feels like something is holding it down. Thanks for the help guys.

you are taking out the dash board to change the cluster? anyways... way up towards the windshiled there are 2 screws in the vent looking things. did you get those?

*edit* btw all you have to do to get the cluster out is drop the steering wheel and remove the trim. taking out the dashboard is WAY overkill unless i'm misunderstanding.

Your CRAZY if that's the case. In fact, if I'm not mistaken removing the gauge cluster is a step in removing the dashboard!

Two scews in top under side of gauge bezel. Now the bezel "just pops out". It is held in by spring clips and is tough to remove. (Once the two screws are removed the clips are the only thing holding the bezel in.) Once you finally get that SOB off, only four screws holding the cluster in. Remove the screws and unplug it.

That's exactly the step which i am on. We can not get it out and we have removed all of the screws. We managed to get a couple clips to pop out but no matter how hard we pulled on the rest of it, it would not budge. We were thinking of any type of screw that could be holding it and managed to find none. Is there a method to ripping it out, because 2 people couldn't budge it and im positive i removed all the screws because i followed the guide from the interior thread.

Lower your steering wheel to it's lowest setting.

There is no trick to it. It's just clipped in tight.

drop the steering wheel now look under the steering wheel theres i think 6 screws remove those(they are pretty far in the hole), pop the top plastic part of steering column off, 2 screws holdin in the cluster shroud at the top, should pop out(try bottom first, might have to bend the top a bit to fully pull it out) then 2 screws on top 2 on bottom and u got your gauge cluster out.

You don't need to touch the steering wheel to get the gauge cluster out. Just look around next time. http://www.geocities.com/amixam69/ni...ash/index.html
