Want to buy a 96 GLE

Hi,

I am about to purchase a 96 GLE with the following info:

1) 53,000 Miles
2) One Owner
3) Extensive Maintenance Records at Dealership. The two most expensive ones are:
- Replace EGR Valve and BPT Valve. Total: 561.15
- Replace Coil Assembly/Knock Sensor, etc. Total: 1045.
- Others: 15K services, 30K services, Oil chages, battery.
4) She even keeps a complete record of every time she purchase gas for the car from 96 to Now (including receipt). Incredible!!!
5) Interial is very little wear.
6) Good tires

She is firm with $5000.

Is this price OK?

Thank in Advance.
TP

go for it. sounds like a great deal.
the coil thing strange, that it failed at such low mileage, but she had it replaced at the dealer so i wouldnt worry. good tires is a big perk as well.

i paid $4500 for a 97 GLE with 42k on it, so ur definitely in the right price range.

Thanks everyone for your input. I went back this morning and made a deposit to get a signed bill of sale. I'll head to the bank to get the money tomorrow or so.

Cheers,
Tri

PS: I still have no idea what '96blackmaxSE' wanted to say '=))).

My Great aunt is just like that lady you are buying the car from. She has a 2000 Hyundai Sonata 4cyl with 24k miles, oil changed every 3 months NOT every 3k miles. A gas record history book, and she only runs premium. The Stealership really makes me mad, they take advantage of her, she has has the transmission flushed twice, timing belt replaced, drive belts changed, coolant flush, and power steering flush all due to them telling her it needs done.
So good luck and you are buying a well taken car of car, which my Max had not been and it gave me a lot of trouble because of it!
Which is why I drive a Lancer now
