Which one is it that we have?
I assume 4 wheel ABS is better than 2 wheel ABS right lol ?

The 99 has a 4 wheel ABS system.

Well there needs to be sensors for the rear regardless, which there is.

And it is 4-wheel

So in a scenario where one of the rear calipers is seized does that throw off the ABS sensor along with the dash light ?

What do you mean by seized? like your dragging the wheel everywhere you go? Or it is constantly putting extra pressure on the rotor and locking the wheel before all the others?

It could possibly be the problem. The light would go off there is a problem at any point in the system.

Yep because the traction control system is driven off the same sensors.

I dont have any problem, this is a theoredical question. From being on these boards for more than a year i have not seen people complaining of having the ABS dash light with a seized caliper - which is btw when a caliper piston refuses to compress/decompress due to whatever, rust, dirt, i duno what else.

So the idea of the question is: when the sensor tries to apply the ABS pressure, the caliper piston refuses to move, that does not make the sensor send a signal to the ecu.

I think i am confusing how this ABS sensor works, help plz
PS: assuming cars without TC btw

sensor senses wheel lock (sudden wheel lock) and prevents a constant pressure from being applied to yoru break calipers. if you drive with a seized caliper, there is no sudden change in rotation speed so ABS should not be tripped.
