Remote Hood-Pop

Has anybody figured out a way to pop your hood from a remote, like we do our trunks? I've found, as I'm sure many of you have while working on vehicles, that it would be TERRIBLY convenient to be able to pop your hood from a remote without unlocking and opening your door. Any ideas or experiences?

Use the same methodology as people who shave thier door handles and you've got your bases covered. I have something very simliar to this (see link) on my 92 camaro w/ no door handles. I did this 10 years ago and they still work to this day. I had a professional Alarm installer tie them into my Clifford alarm so I only carry around the one Clifford remote. I was going to do the same thing for the hood, but decided against it. Wasn't worth my time to fabricate the brackets and such to make this work etc.

Looking back, I'm glad I didn't do it. I think it's worthless and pointless. Just spend the whole 2 seconds to open the door, reach in, and pull the lever.

Haha. I know what you mean. I was going to do it for Show purposes, back when my camaro was my pride and joy. I was always looking for the next cool gadget.

You shouldn't be working on a car if you are that lazy to reach into your car to pop a hood.

bad idea. pointless. useless. you pop your trunk more on average then your hood thats why it doesn't have a popper. also it is hella un safe.

there is a reason you have to 'pop it' and then unlatch it.

edit: i guess on a car that was 'onlay fo show' it would/could be neat. also cons of this would be it would only work with the stock hood as you would otherwise have to have hood pins for fiberglass ones.

i dont think it's rice... rice would be pointlessly flashy and would say :attention ... this would be a mod that no one would know about unless you told them or did it in front of them
