quick valve cover question

I searched, and I don't think anyone has asked this question....would a vq35 front valve cover fit on a vq30 head?

I just had this Idea after looking at a vq35 swap. I'd want to do this for a couple reasons, it would match my black plastic 00vi, and it would help clean up the engine bay without having to be polished! I think it would look pretty hot..

anyone know if it'd fit? Also, what coils would fit it..95-99? 00-01? 02+?

thanks,
Josh

With enough time and determination, anything's possible. I just stuck the cover from a buddy of mine (Goldtooth) on my Maxima, but I felt as if I was lying to myself and I took it off. It's up to you.

sorry...didn't mean the cover over the IM that says 3.5 on it...I would NEVER do that. I'm talking the actual METAL front valve cover on my 3.0. Shall i call it a rocker cover? I'll dig up pics..

what I'm talking about:http://www.doubleshotsindustries.com.../Image014b.jpg

NOT what I'm talking about:http://www.doubleshotsindustries.com.../Image015b.jpg

Looks like I'd have to use vq35 coils doesn't it...?

I imagine NmexMax knows what you mean, which is what you said. VC != engine cover.

I remember a thread in AM a while back about VQ30 vs VQ35 valve covers, and the effort it took to swap them out. I believe one member has done it.

I'll keep looking for the thread, but can't find it yet.

EDIT: Can't seem to find it...for once the search has failed me.

NmexMax - you have like every AM thread in existence bookmarked, right?

courtesyparts.com lists 04+ valve covers for about $37. I could probably get one for 30-35....thinking about just getting one and finding out.

In case anyone wants to know
answer: NOPE.

All the bolt holes line up except that one. Not to mention the nice gap right there....it's too bad, it would have been alot easier than polishing the aluminum one.
