I have a Borla Turbo muffler. Great sound, but it resonates in the cabin a bit too much. If I did it again I'd go with the Hemi muffler instead. Don't know much about the boomers, I stay away from anything with a tip bigger than the muffler.

Well, I have heard from a friend that the Borla mufflers (not sure what type) on 3rd gens do give it a much more throaty sound. I'd highly recommend doing one of those instead of wasting $500+ on the Greddy or other catbacks. Oh yeah, I did hear a 4th gen Max with a Borla (it said Borla on the side but not sure what type) pass by me and it sounded like a friggin Porsche 911!!! I have been in some Porsche 911's and been around them before and it sounded just like one. Basically what I'm trying to say is Borla is the way to go. I'm going to get a "y" splitter and custom make a dual Borla for my 91 gxe.

I had a Borla cat-back system on my 97 Wrangler. It was the nicest exhaust for the Jeep I have ever heard. Haven't had any experence with the Maxima. However, I took my Jeep (5.5" lift, 33" tires) through the mountains, rivers, mud, rockcrawling, etc. and the muffler held up perfect. Great constuction and the backpressure was within range. I only went through 1 cat in 3 yrs of ownership and Jeeps have a history of cat trouble.

Hope some of that helped.

you guys should look around on all the 4th gen owner's pages under the links section. I could have sworn that I heard some sound files from someone's website and one of them was with a borla muffler. It sounded pretty awesome for a maxima since it had that v8 rumble to it. I even surprised a few Chevy enthusiasts when they heard those sound files. Oh, I think it is Cheston's website but I am not sure about the name.

I have a Borla Turbo mufler with a custom y pipe and cat back. It's realy deep and throaty down low, and up top it sounds like a Porshe or a new M3.

do any of you know what kind of effect 2 Borla's would have? I know it sounds great with one but I was going to get a y-splitter and custom make a dual exhaust (due to the Wings West body kit, if I get it). That's awesome Z! I am definitely getting 2 Borla's now. Something really crazy is that I revved my stock '91 gxe engine to about 4000-4500rpm (completely stock but K&N filter) and it did sound like some Porsche's already! Ahhh....if only I could figure out a way to convert my Maxima to accept the 4.3l v6 Vortech from my brother's Blazer!!! You guys should hear the way it sounds. If ever there was a v6 I'd mistake for a v8, its definitely that monster!
