Clunk noise when I hit the brakes...
I just recentley got my front pads changed. I began to hear a clunk noise
2 days ago and changed the brakes yesterday. It happens when I hit the brakes. I had the mechanic check it out and he thinks its the lower control arm. Is that possible the the control arm could make a noise when applying the brakes. I really notice the noise when I mash the brakes firmly.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Do you have any oil leaking on the control arm? If so, then thats most likely the issue as everyone else has said. It may be good to check the strut and ball joint as well.
even if there is no oil leaking, a car thats 14+ years old will need maintenance. replacing bushings is part of that, as are clutches, brake pads, bulbs, or even (in a stretch) a transmission.
