Knocking noise under my feet. PLEASE HELP!

I drive a 96 SE 5speed. recently Ive notice that after accelerating and letting off the gas, my car makes a knocking sound from, what sounds like, under my feet. I can also feel this problem slightly on the floor and in the pedals.
The problem started about two weeks ago and then went away after a night of driving. Now it is back, and it will not stop. The problem does occur while pressing the gas lightly or off the accelerator completley, but NEVER when on the gas hard.

I had that problem and it wound up being the main nuts on the lower control arm were loosening up. Had to get new nuts from nissan with the plastic lock peice.

It could be really bad lower control arm bushings and there is alot of movement causing a knocking sound/feeling.

While you are doing whatever it takes to make the noise occur and you shift the weight of the car from side to side (slight swerving motion) does the noise come and go as the weight shifts from one side to another?? If so, you may have a bad bearing. I had the same problem before and there was no play at the wheel when doing the ol bearing shake test either. Just another suggestion let us know what happens.

check the LCAs. They're either loose or have bad bushings.
