For those of you who use ramps..

Any suggestions to a good set? I tried to use some my father had, but my bumper would make contact before my tires..

Found some, and thought I'd share since these were much less than I expected..

If you want to buy from the store - Rhino Ramps seemed to be a good choice. Only about $35. Just google it, they're all over.

Since I'm already DIYing, I think I'll go this route: http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/...amps/index.htm

if your car is lower, you need low profile ramps. i really have the problem with my mach 1 lip...i just use a jack and jack stands.

If you want to use your "fathers ramps", just put a small piece of 2x4 at the base of the ramp. When you drive onto the 2x4, your car will be higher, eliminating the sudden step. If this doesn't work, do a 1-2 2x4 stack similar to the DIY picture above. I had to do this while using ramps this summer.....

Thanks for the tip; I'll try this tomorrow!

Not sure if this is what you meant, but my car is stock height. These are some old school ramps - not sure if that has anything to do with how steep they are.

my dad has these ramps that look like giant legos and he uses them to balance our camper. since i plan on going lower, these seem like a good choice, instead of getting an expensive low profile jack....for now atleast.

edit: http://www.rvpartscenter.com/Product...ID=160&CID=576

something like that, now that i think about it, it would take a lot to make a decent ramp. though, the concept is there...i guess.

I made my own like the guy in the Mustang forum. I just have 3 layers of wood instead of the 4 he has. If you drive through a new contruction neighborhood you probably could find all your materials in a dumpster.
