wow i just got out of my maxima, and finished getting rid of the sound. I had a thread somewhere asking about the blower.
found it with google search:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....942&highlight=

i even included a link where u can listen to the sound i was getting.
So....

the blower motor is right behind the glove compartment to the right.
I got a 95 max. so I used 1 philips screwdriver, to access it. removed 6 screws off the glove compartment. disconnected 2 wireds from glove compartment after.

THe blower is black and circular. u can see the 2002 max version in the below pic, which its almost in the same position immediately to the right of that red circle.

and you'll see a curved "Mcdonald's straw" lookin plastic hose coming out of it as well as a wire that connects it to the blower resister. disconnect both of those and begin unscrewing the blower cover that I guess is to insulate the sound. Its 3 screws and the 3rd one is the hardest, cuz its in a really tight space I still ahvent figured how to get to without removing the whole front panel. I had to stuff my hand in there after using different lengthed ratchets. then move the cover to the side as much as u can so that u can unscrew the 3 screws for the blower itself.
1 screw is in a tight space. same story. pull out the motor. observe leaves.

At this point I reconnected the wire and put on the motor to see a bunch of leaves come flying out through the motor grooves.BE care full if u do this cuz u can f*ck up your motor IM assuming if it hits up against an obstruction at a high speed. I immediately turned off the motor after putting it on.

remove the leaves and whatever else. i used a small flat tipped screwdriver.

test the motor with it back in place.
nice and quiet.

screw it back on. I lost 1. for the blower cover, and Im tested if it would work differently, and saw no difference. Im assuming its to hold the insulating cover thing in place which is not really important considering the other 2 are also in place.

Can Someone tell me how thes leaves are getting in the motor????? ALSO is there an In cabin Microfilter for the 4th Gen that can be changed while My glove compartment is stil off??
Hope that helped.

Air comes from the outside so debris can get in as well. 4th gens don't have a filter but you can always try to add one custom.

Pour lysol in the vents under the drivers side wiper. Let it sit for like 20-30 min. Wash it out, then go drive the car with the heat on max on the hwy going 55-70mph. I usually pour the cleaner/disinfectant 2-3 times before the drive.
This is what I do to get rid of the smell. Check the stickies for a similar version to clean.

Under the driver side wiper?? that big plastic piece and seal is there that runs along the windshield ( that the wiper is locked onto). that wont block where the lysol is supposed to flow into right?

thx, nd sorry to overthrow the thread a bit

Under that as well, you should see the plastic vent piece. That is where you pour the lysol.
