Curing paint faster?

Ok so I didn't think this thread belonged in the garage or detailing really, and I know I'll get more response in a general area. Please move this thread if my choice of forum is an issue.

I have been doing some painting today and I am using some normal duplicolor auto paint. The cure time on the bottle to be polished/buffed is 48 hours.

I've been putting a hair dryer on it (gets boring REALLY fast), and was wondering if anybody knows a quicker or less annoying way to get the paint to cure quick. This is on my tail lights, so I really don't want to put it in the oven and have that black crap turn into liquid and get all over the place, but if that's the quickest method then let me know!

Also, how long would you painting pros reccomend waiting to sand it? I'm currently doing the base coat and it definately needs some sanding before I clearcoat, but I don't really want to wait 2 days.

Thanks for any assistance.

You can sand the base with 1000 as soon as it's dry. Leave it in the sun and that time should be around 1 hr. Wet sand, cut and polish after it cures. Without a spray & bake booth, wait at least 24 hrs.
