rear driver side brake sticking, smoking

the rear driver side brake is sticking and stared smoking i took it to the mecanic and he ruled out the caliper. he told me to buy a new brake line. can it really be the break line? i was seriously doubting it. but its way cheaper than the caliper, so im gonna go with his idea. but what do you guys think can the breakline cause the caliper to stick.

Not the same car but same brake system...I had a Taurus SHO that had a rear brake line swell shut. To prove or disprove get it to stick and then crack the bleeder, if it frees up then it's 99% sure to be the hose.

Our rear calipers are known to seize, but if he ruled it out then it could be the line. My moms van needed a new line, it too caused the caliper to seize. But the parking brake mechanism could be at fault too. I have had that stick, not the e brake cable, the actual innards in the caliper. In that you would need a caliper.
