*Can an EXPERT audio guru tell me the specs of this box??*

Sorry guys, I cant figure out the specs for this box. Please guys. I'm looking at buying a custom built box and these are the measurements...

BOX IS
W 30.5" x H 15.5" x L 16.5"

PORT IS
W 24" x H 14.5" x L 14" (Does the port even make any sense now that i think about it?) how could it be almost the size of the box??

I just need someone to help me out and tell me how many cubic feet the box will have and what will it be tuned at? (BTW its a single chamber Dual 10" sub box, with a square vent)

Ive tried using the guide on 12volt.com and other calculator to figure it out, but I cant figure out what it tunes to and I'm not so sure I should be using a sealed box calculator for the displacement (in cubic feet) for bass reflex.

Please guys really need to know. Or at least the method for calculating the box specs. Thanks again.

The port doesn't really factor into the enclosure size.

The cubic foot is just that. Fill it with water if you like and measure that. Its gonna be the same with the port or not.

k...thank you for that...now what does it end up being tuned to?

I checked the box calculator and got about 3.5cf3

Oh boy, theres a set of calculations for that one....

port length, diamerter, etc..

overall dimension: 30.5" x 15.5" x 16.5"
gross box volume: 3.524 sqft

what's your desired tuning frequency and target airspace for the subs?

ya with that port we dont have enough info sort of

is that the whole volume?

cuz we need the surface area of the port

i don't think that's the right port dimension. that is a HUGE port based on those measurements.

aight guys here are some facts on the HX2 10" (hope you can see)

For a vented enclosure its about 1.0cf3 per sub at 35hz.

Im gonna be running Two 10's at 500 wrms a piece

The specs are probably going to be 30.25 x 12.25 x 16.5 [2.68cf3] (WxHxD) tuned at 38hz

What do you guys think?

38 hz tune will be too peaky in my opinion, and your low end extension won't be as prominent.

i say aim for 32hz tune. if you're going to do that...try these dimensions:

box size: 30 x 12.25 x 16
gross volume: 2.57 cuft

port width: 2
port height: 10.75
tuning: 32 Hz
port length: 24.335
port disp: .403
net airspacee: 2.06

this will give you close to 1.0 cubes of airspace per sub with a better tuning IMO.
