As I reply'ed in your PM...check the wiring too.

This is my seat that he bought and it works. It's either your wiring or your fuse(s). I believe the passenger side is wired for power too...try that as well. If it works there that means your wiring on your driver side is bad.

same problem

I got some new power seats and they do not work, I can't find the fuse under the hood that works, and I talked to a tech he said that the CB never go bad. What else could it be, and how hard is it to add another power wire to the seat, and run a new fuse?

first thing to check to see if motor is bad is just like ^. or you can do the old method......two wires a battery and just play with the plug or try to hook the wires up to the motor and see what happens directly. if not that check the lines to see it power is coming from them (power tester). Other than that just check the fuses and or relays.

Bang that motor a little bit like you would hit a starter. Should be working after that if it isn't something else.

As long as we're talking about power seat problems; my 95 Maxima driver's power seat goes back and forth and the back cushion reclines and goes up fine too.

Problem: The seat cushion will not go up or down or tilt up or down.

If I get out of the seat, the cushion will tilt up and down, and also go up and down, but if I sit down on the cushion(put my body weight on it) when it's elevated it will drop down to the bottom position.

It almost sounds like some gear teeth rattling or grinding against some cogs when it goes down with my weight?

Would really appreciate some help. Is it some stripped gears, or what?

Agreed, or a very, very weak motor just about to die.

What would I being considering, parts-wise and labor time if I fixed it myself?

Are stripped gears part of the motor, or separate from the motor assembly?

When I wrote that first post, it crossed my mind that someone would have a witty retort/comeback when I said it/seat wouldn't lift my weight.
