Wtf is up with eclipse amps?

I wanted to buy a 4 channel amp like the EA4000 or the XA4000 and now im doubting it because it has a stupid built in high and low pass filter; no damn bypass filter for the 6.5's. So what should I be looking at?

Maybe the Diamond Audio d3 400.4? I believe it has a bandpass filter.

Lemme know what you guys think.. Thanks!

you need a high pass filter n00b. so that eclipse amp will be fine.

I think your getting your terminology mixed up.

Bandpass I believe is a type of box.

High pass - Means the highs get to pass...

Low pass - means the lows get to pass...

Incorrect. Bandpass is combining a 'trap' between both high and low. IE: Your running a dedicated midbass from 80 to 250. To obtain that would be a HP of 80 and LP of 250 equating to nothing below 80 and nothing above 250 thus we have ..bandpass.

However yes bandpass can be a type of enclosure, just not in this situation.

Will it be worth it if I get an amp without the Bandpass feature?

Worth it? Why not? For a passive set bandpass would serve no purpose.

You only need a variable high pass.

Is this a new brand, playing on the Eclipse name? Like Rockwood?

LoL @ the bashing. The xm6 is actually a fairly decent piece with some flexibility. If you get a noise free one then its a good piece for the money.
