so, i do a warpspeed y and magnaflow cat, and then i do a pacesetter catback and the b-pipe does'nt have enough clearance over the rear axle ,(only an inch) so it bangs on it every friggin time i hit a spot in the road or a speed bump. also, the friggin muffler sounds like a bunch of bee's is stuck in it and it buzzes when you step on it. so, i call pacestter and they're sendin me a whole new set-up, now i gotta pay to re-install the catback again!!! and, the friggin muffler tip had to be altered so it would'nt stick out 1 and a half inches from the bumper. anyone got ideas on what the buzzin sound is, or why the b=pipe isnt clearing the axle, supposedly made for a 4th gen only??? my mechanic said it was a $hitty weld job on the flang and its hangin too low. anyone been through this with a pacesetter or any catback??? thanks orgers in advance.....

 

Well the tip issue could very well be because the system was designed for a 97-99 A32, and not your 95-96.

Buzzing could be an exhaust leak, some type of rasp, it rubbing against the body, who knows.

Over-axle clearance, have you tried messing with the play in the flanges? Likely it's a result of all aftermarket parts having slight fitment issues that become one large problem, or it could just be a ****ty design. Definitely play with the hangars and flanges to reposition the over-axle pipe.

Why not do the exhaust yourself? Couple 14mm wrenches, socket/ratchet and some time.

 

I didnt know they still made that exhaust I believe the pipping is smaller than stock but is mandrell bet

 

The pacesetter piping is the same diameter as stock (2.25"), but it is indeed mandrel bent.

 

i think the muffler has a loose weld spot in it, i tapped on it before install and it had a soft spot. my tech shook it and it had a little noise comin from inside which made me nervous. i talked to the guy from warpspeed who said he installed a few of these, no problems, (bull$hit). i wish it could be done in a parking lot somewhere, i dont have tools or any jacks to do this. not to mention its gonna be close to 100 tomorrow. my tech aint gonna rape me on price, but pacesetter aint paying fo any labor on the fix, bastards......

 

o, and thanks pmohr, it is a ****ty design and i never thought of 95 being different than a 97-99 allthough they swear, that it fits 95 to 99. i was'nt aware that they were different. why would it be different??? same motor and all, auto different than stick??? specify please.

 

97-99 had a longer rear bumper, IIRC.

also, i have gotten backfire a couple of times, is that normal??? only when i first started it and revved it in park. otherwise this exhaust aint horrible.........

 

too much fuel in exhaust system.....late ignition.....bad plugs.

 

^^^no,no snypa, i know what ur thinkin. it starts fine, after it starts and i rev it up a few times real high it'll pop on the way down 1 time. i'm thinkin i'm givin it too much gas to begin with. i would've said the same thing tho reading that.

 

My Budget B pipe used to bang up against the gas tank due to the play in the hangers. Take a few 2"-3" hose clams and put them over the rubber hangers (1 on the B pipe and 3 on the rear section) to tighten them up. They stopped the annoying banging noise and hold the exhaust in better than before.

 

^^^^mmmmmm, no, there's not enough clearance between the mid-pipe and the axle/underside of car. trust me, we played with the hangers and put a hose clamp on there. the specs are wrong on the go$%^&$&% intermediate pipe alltogether.friggin aftermarket..........
