My Project is Almost Complete

Right now the Quaife is installed into the transmission. It is reassembled and had been installed back on the car. The new ACT clutch is also in place. So, the worst part is definately over. Now all that's left is putting on the lower motor mounts, the Y pipe, the driveshafts, and then the wheels.

Few lessons I have learned. Do not move the refridgerator on a vinyl floor by itself. What happened was I had the tranny on the kitchen table, and one of the steel check ***** rolled underneath. So being as how I know how to move vending machines I moved the fridge to get to it. Well I tore huge holes in the vinyl flooring with the feet of the fridge. I made it a little better by borrowing the clothes iron and tin foil and ironing out the damage. Surprisingly my parents did not even care.

It was also fortunate that I had tested my transmission before I went to put it back into place. I accidentally put my reverse gear outside of the reverse fork, so what this did was that reverse would be engaged while I was in neutral. And, 4th gear would jam and the input shaft would not move at all. Fortunately I caught this, so I wouldnt be wondering why my car would be going backwards while in neutral.

The car will be back on the road probably tomorow. Almost hard to believe its almost done, considering its taken almost a month to do. Most the time was waiting for parts to come in. Should drive like a totally new car, being how I upgraded the differential, the clutch and the motor mounts. I will write a complete writeup in the coming few days. I believe my differential install was the first D-I-Y installation.
