This is for your 97 GLE? The SE wheel uses a different airbag. You could use a GLE airbag but it won't line up perfectly and look out of place.

lol i just looked at the pics, they are pretty much identical exept i like the SE airbag more because of the sportier style. the GLE style is flatter and bland, is there a way to simply swap that part?

You can use an SE airbag on a GLE wheel and vice versa but it will not fit perfect. Your best bet is to get an SE wheel and SE airbag.
