Steel Shelving: 10' x 1' x 4' w/lots of shelves
Steel Shelving: 10' x 1' x 4' w/lots of shelves
As stated, I have numerous shelves that need to be gone! I ended up getting too many! These are stock shelves from a local Auto Zone that was moving locations. They purchased new shelves and subsequently sold some of their old shelving. Individual sections are 10' high, 1' deep, and 4' shelving length.
These rows were originally 20' long. I'd prefer to sell a 20' section, but am willing to break up the rows into sections. An entire row would come with x6 uprights and about 11 shelves per section if spaced 1' apart.
The shelving is wrapped along its edges with steel. The ends have hooks which attach to the uprights. Each shelf weighs about 6-7lbs each.
* Individual sections (two uprights/one shelving section): $35 with shelving
* Entire row (six uprights/ five shelving sections): $100 with shelving
I have enough uprights and shelving for x6 individual sections if 6 people want just one section. However, I would prefer someone buy an entire row or both rows.
If both rows are purchased, they can be installed back to back, making each section 2' deep. If someone wanted to install two different sets of shelves, I also have a couple spacers which install at the top of the shelving, hooking them together for stabliziation.
Due to the size and wieght of these shelves, I am not willing to ship. Local pick-up only; Jonesborough, TN.
Here are some links which give prices new on these items. The uprights are practically identical to what is showed here. Note that it would take two of these to make one set of shelves and does not include any shelving.

These shelves are close, but the ones I have are wood, with the entire edging wrapped in steel on all 4 sides. Note that shelving prices are inividually priced at about $17 each.

FYI: With what I paid for these shelving and my time/labor tearing them down and transporting them, I am about comming out even.

Bump. I've started setting up some of this shelving in my garage. I remember having to tear these things down! Putting them up by myself was very easy! Easier than expected! I'm 330lbs and I can stand on a single shelf they are that strong! I just need rid of these extra lengths and shelves as I bought too many!!!!
I can use some Chris, perhaps when I make it up there, one section will be waiting. Though, do you think they would withstand the elements, or would be easy enough to cut up, because my ceilings aren't but 7.5 feet tall. Have a good one.
Yes, these can be cut, can't say how easily as it will depend on what you're using. My dad has had to cut some down due to the layout of his garage and where he wants them. They have shelf notches about every 1 inch, so they are very versitile. I do suggest a trailer to haul them though! The shelves are VERY heavy and because the centers are wood, I suggest they not be left to the weather.
I'd suggest something a bit stronger and quicker. You're talking at least four cuts (one per leg) and each leg is "U" shaped. I've got an electric die ginder with cutting blads that should make easy work out of them.
Yeah, if they are pre-cut, a roof rack should hold the legs just fine....but likely NOT the shelves. We'll figure it all out my friend!

Summer bump.
I have several of these now set up in my garage. If interested, email me for pics...I've saved TONS of room!
Here are some images of the shelves I have set up.

Still installing shelves as I get things more organized. You can see how the shelves can be installed at any height and spacing. I still have about 4-6 shelves to install to get the number I want so that I can organize my parts. Also, you may notice some of the shelves have plastic strips across the front where you can insert papers which identify what is on the shelves, just like at AutoZone/Advance.

This is a good shot to show differences in how they can be set up. To the right, I have set up the shelves to be 2 feet deep. Facing forward, I have set the shelves up to be only 1 foot deep. This allows easy access to parts in the corner, which would have been difficult if I did the front facing shelf 2 feet instead of 1 foot deep.

This image simply shows all the shelves along the right side wall. The shelves closes to the camara are industrial solid steel shelves with steel wire shelving. At 340 pounds, I can walk and jump up/down on these things while they barely budge. Toward the back, you can see the commercial shelves I've got for sale. Although, I do have extra industrial shelving uprights, just no horizontal beems or shelving for them.
