Whats the deal with breather filters?

Do these do anything? Has anyone done it? Its the little filter that goes on the crankcase vent to midpipe. If so what were the positive or negative effects? I searched but nothing I found gave me an answer. Also for us how would we set this up? Put one on the crankcase, but what about the other two, the hose from one valve to the other(2 more for these?), I guess you would tape the hole off by the midpipe, to get more air? Kind of a stupid question but..

i had breathers on my paseo and corolla but they mounted on top of the vc. i thought about doing this on the max but then if the filters get saturated with oil/vapors they'd drip. i think the best option not to add oil vapors to your intake is an oil catch tank.

dont bother/dont do it. From what little I have read there is a reason it pulls air from your intake and isnt just an open hole. I have a breather on mine, I cant tell any ill effects but I'm going to be connecting the hose to my midpipe again (when i get one) asap.

Thinking about it, would I put 2 on the breather hose also from front to back valve? Or just on the crankcase vent that goes to the mid-pipe?

Seriously people... they are for people who are boosted because you dont want 10psi going into your crankcase, and for ricers who want to pretend they are boosted.
