Bulb number puzzle for interior light?
Bulb number puzzle for interior light?
I have a 99 I30 (bought new) and the "map" light burned out. This light is near the rear view mirror on the inside of the car roof. The bulb says 12 volts, 10 watts, made in china. the Owners manual list NO NUMBER for the bulb (it does give numbers for other bulbs) and just says 10 watts.
i have been to two parts stores with no luck, and have used the online charts like for advance auto that shows (incorrectly) a long thin bulb with two metal pointed ends. My bulb is not like that at all, but a regular round glass part with a metal base, one contact point and two side bayonet lugs like a 70s turn signal bulb.
Anyone know the bulb replacement number ?

you should be able to take the bulb to the guy at the parts counter. he should be able to help you check. i had that bulb burn out my my i30t back in the day, i wanna say it was 119 or 134 or something. 1xx for sure.
If your determined to replace it then check with the nissan dealer. Only down side is they are going to charge you way too much and your map light will still have that ugly yellow incadecent color to it. If you dont mind spending the time take the map light housing out and hook up some LED's.
This is what I bought:

I guess the dealer might have one that matches OEM, I was not able to find anything at my local parts stores, or the big box stores like Autozone etc... I am perfectly happy with this one, it is VERY bright (though pricey as you say)....

Ended up taking the lamp housing out and sticking a LED board in each side. Now I never have to worry about it again!
