u might have to replace the stalk like others have suggested.... this happened to me ... everytime i turned on the lights or used the turn signals smoke came out and it smelled like burning rubber ..... there was a short in the stalk itself because some plastic piece melted/broke off ...

I agree with this post probably the cause of your problem.

Clearly your blinker fluid has absorbed water and the boiling point has come down significantly.

Blinkers dissipate lots of power, which both radiates (light) and convects/conducts (heat). You need blinker fluid that can handle that sort of heat without boiling, and just 1000 parts of water per million parts of blinker fluid can lower the boiling point by up to 200 degrees F.

Change out your fluid or flush the whole blinker hydraulic system and put in some silicone-based DOT5 stuff.

This was an unnecessary post, n00b. He obviously has done enough work to try to find his issue that he doesn't need BS posts such as yours. Keep that crap to yourself. Don't even bother with a comeback.

As for the problem, definitely try a different stalk. I have two if you want to buy one (no fog light switch though). I'll sell it to you dirt cheap since you really need it sounds like. Let me know.

$30 shipped to KY.
