How hard are your front wheels to turn?

yesterday when I put on my tires I went to spin my front wheels (both off the ground) but they had what felt to me like a boat load of resistance. I was able to turn them, but it wasn't as easy as I recall other cars being.
Could this be due to the VLSD (I haven't played with one in a couple of years ) or is it definitely me needing to fix something in the brakes?
I think it's probably the brakes but I'm hoping someone will say it's the normal action of a 183k VLSD unit

I just recently got new tires, brakes, and an alignment from the dealer. My wheels have always been hard to turn like that, too, so I imagine that if something was wrong, the dealer would have told me.

Id say as long as you don't hear grinding or clunking noises while driving, you're ok.

Also, now that I think about it, you can be sure its not your VLSD - thats all electronic, so it wouldn't even be a facor in the wheel's "turnability" with the car being off.

Brakes are probably to blame if its really that difficult to turn the wheels. I can't think of another explanation - especially if the car still drives ok.

VLSD is not electronic at all. it is a fluid coupling.

While the engine was off right? I don't have VLSD and my wheels are pretty easy to turn when i jack it up, so it is probably VLSD

My mistake - figured it was coupled with ABS/traction.

Traction control = electric
LSD = limited slip differential , mechanical

have a working VLSD, if both wheels are off the ground it will turn its not too hard, but if one is still on the ground forget, ur not turning that wheel
