Two questions...odd noise and odd AC behavior
Two questions...odd noise and odd AC behavior
2001 SE with 280k.
Issue 1...Odd squeak/metallic noise that is in concert with speed of wheel rotation. Starts as a squeak, similar to a caliper dragging. Gets a bit more metallic. Comes and goes. All rotors, calipers and pads check-out fine. Note, this sounds nothing like the drumming/howling associated with bad bearings.
Issue 2...The AC is engaged when you start the car. Drive the car with the AC off. Park it. Come back and start the car...the AC is on. Turn off AC. Drive. Park. Start car again...AC is on.
Any clues to either of these will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Update...
Fixed the AC problem. Turns out the problem was a 10-amp fuse in the passenger compartment fuse panel. I decided to look in there when the clock pod went dark a couple days after the AC weirdness started. It was the 10-amp fuse that sits at the bottom of the fuse panel. It's marked "misc. electrical" or something like that.
No fix for the noise, though. It's gone for now. I actually hate that. Makes it harder to diagnose.
