CF Hood in the winter

I got a VIS CF hood and I'm wonering if the quality of CF hoods is reliable for winter driving. I have my stock hood so can always swap if the CF hood does not hold up well in the winter.

I wouldnt think CF would be a problem in the cold. Ive always wondered if those hoods with vents have problems in the rain and snow though.

I'm getting mine in 2 weeks.

Does the rain go into the engine bay through the vent?
Any change with temperature inside the engine bay?

I won't worry about the cold (my Max sleeps the whole winter).

Cheers;

Peter

the vent is right behind the rad and sucks hot air out of it which is nice. slightly cooler engine bay temps.

if you have the stock hood i'd put it on just to prevent and scratches etc from cleaning off snow and what not. also if you get into a fender bender i'd rather damage the stocker vs the cf one you know? for me my max sleeps in a nice warm garage all the winter so i don't care either way. it also help keep my mileage down which is the shizzle as well.

PearlWhtMaX2000 how did you get a sponsor? i need one

and remember to paint your CF guys. unpainted FTL!

I've been wondering this too. I want one really bad, but I plan to treat it like summer tires and rims honestly. Once late fall hits it all comes off and sits in the basement.

Na you guys will be fine, i wouldn't take it on and off. Ive had mine for like 3 years now, through 3 winters, and no problems at all.

Torgus: It was a chalange but i managed to get 5 sponsors when i was showing the car. I went away to Australia for school and lost 3 of them, but i still have 2 major ones. I think it is tougher to get sponsored now a days compared to a few years ago, because there are so many modded cars out, and many maxima's. when i started there where only a few Nissan's at shows, so mine got a lot of attention.
