Some Mean Person torched my car!

Some mother-effers set my car on fire early Saturday morning. Was woken up by the cops banging on my gf's door at the apt complex. My maxima was parked at a parking meter in a relatively safe neighborhood. Either I was targeted by my girl's ex or it was a random arson/theft attempt. I have a feeling they didn't find anything valuable and then decided to torch it. Cops didn't do ****, just gave me a business card, said they were sorry for my loss and left.
Firefighters must have gotten here pretty quickly since the car didn't burn completely or exploded, but it's a total loss for sure.

Here are the pics my gf took:

Right-passenger mirror-all melted

What's left of my clothes, which I had on the back seat from last weekend's camping trip.

Oh my god! Your poor car! Its a shame that people can't respect other's property. You should check to see if other cars in the area have gotten torched like that lately. If not, it probably wasn't just a random act - someone sought out your car and had their way with it for whatever reason.

Could there possibly have been security cameras at the appartment complex? Any ideas what are you going to replace your Max with?

Engine still good? Maybe you can buy it from insurance and part out the stuff that's still good to make a couple bucks.

If your g/f has a crazy ex like that, whether or not he did indeed do it, just the fact that she suspects he might have, you need to be the man and make sure she get's a restraining order as well as carries mace and/or a stun gun with her at all times. Just my .02, sorry for the loss.

The infinity in front of me was M45 and he got his trunk melted a little bit. I don't know the person and they left before I could get in contact with them. I took down their lic plate# for my insurance co.

I do have full coverage (State Farm) with a $1000 deductible, so it's gonna hurt a bit, but I'm glad I didn't just have liability. I was going to keep my maxima till it died, but I'm pretty much screwed now and have to look for another car.

The cops did file a police report, but they left before I had the chance to get down and look at it. When I called, they gave me a run around telling me I should be calling the Hollywood station instead, so I had to deal with being transferred back and forth kinda bs.

I don't think it was my gf's ex and it was just a random thing, but I guess I will never know. The tow truck driver told me he's seen a bunch of maxima burned, but they were the 4th generations. In case someone is targeting our cars in the LA area, you guys keep your eyes open.

duuuude wtf!? I think I would just sit and cry if someone did that to my maxima. Im also guessing you didnt have the alarm set because if you did then maybe you would have heard them breaking in and beat the **** out of them in time.
