all i can say is WOW. I love progress
I bought a progress rear sway bar a couple days ago and figured, it will make a difference but not one i will sing praise about. Well i was really wrong. i istalled my Progress sway bar abd it took about 30 minutes. I took it for a ride on my way to the gym on main and back roads. Unbelievable. I heard that you will notice it mostly on the highway and such but on the main road even going 30 i feel a major difference. On the highway its great as well. Very well mannered. So instead of bable ill list what i feel are the changes.
Main roads- over manhole covers and cracks in the road the car seems to stay in line and not want to wag the rear end. If only one side of the rear hits a bump or crack it seems to be more controlled by the side that didnt encounter the bump. The car goes around long sweeping turns with ease and feels like it wants to be challeged.
bad backroads- On backroads with cracks and manholes and every other imperfection it doesnt cancel the bumps and such... it makes the car feel more controlable and not ready to switch lanes. The wobble the rear would give me is gone and i dont feel like im at a wedding anymore shaking my a$$.
Hiway- On ramps wow, the body roll is greatly reduced and again the car feels more controlable. More like a performance ride than a luxo ride.
In essence i would say it makes the ride feel more like glass. i dont mean Caddy ride on the clouds but more agile, nimble and tight. I would say for a suspension upgrade this is a Holy Sh*t upgrade. Cheap, easy and oh so noticeable. I cant believe i didnt do this sooner.

i just finished putting on the illuminas and eibach springs, Addco RSB and Otto racing FSTB today and went for a road test, i DIDNT want to stop turning!! before the upgrade i never wanted to turn my car coz it felt like one side is gonna lift up!!! lol
i couldnt have said it better.
from where can i get a otto fstb? i have been looking and never found a place to buy one... can someone direct me please? and the addco website didnt list anything for 2000 maxima/i30. whats the deal?

yea me too i can find an otto FSB at all i went to a website a while back and it was on backorder but that was years ago and i dont remember the website

and i got the addco from ebay....

im not sure if the addco rsb for an 02 fits a 00 tho, might be worth checking..
RSB is my next suspension mod. Really makes the back end feel like it is glued to the pavement.
Really massive difference when I put one on my old Chevelle since it isn't have one in the rear at all, but putting a larger one on my Cutlass made nearly as much difference. I suspect it will be the same with my Maxima.

00-03 chassis and suspension all the same! Yeah My 00 mods which included this and many others mods were swapped over to my 03 five yrs ago. The RSB was an ADDCO unit which was involve in a slight little accident and the dealership which repainted my right fender, and replaced the rear axle, didn't quite put the RSB back on correctly and all my grade 8 hardware was now missing. So I ordered a hardware kit from Progress and reinstalled the RSB with Progress hardware and brackets. So now I have an Addco/Progress hybrid RSB...everything they make is over engineered and extra hefty compared to the Addco unit... I love it!
Yep, I picked one up last week for a great deal and put it on. Haven't had much time in the car with it on but I can say it made a difference. Next up is installing my Eibach's.
i gotta agree with sublime. i love mine. feels like a slot car. it goes were i want when i want. on the progress you can adjust for stiffer or looser by sliding the bar back or forth. i notched the bushing cups for more forward adjustment and it is nice and tight. i like how the bushings attach to the axle for more rigid, interactive feel. Stillen i think is way overpriced and it doesnt have the axle attachments. 300 for stillen or 120 for progress.... no brainer.
I wouldn't ask here if I can google it ... If you google progress rsb all you see are forums, not auto part sites.
Edit: Searched it on this site, its listed under Cattman Performance ... which threw me off

However, if anyone here has access to the actual dimensions of both the progess and the stillen, as a structural engineer i can do the calculations for the torsional and bending properties and tell you the relative stiffness of each. From what I understand, the progress is solid, and the stillen is hollow (but a bit bigger). So I would need the lengths and outside diameters of each bar, and the inside diameter of the stillen (or the wall thickness).
For those asking where to get one, i got mine from Cattman Performance in the group deal section. Great price, great guy. Got it last fall for $130 shipped.
I finally installed it this past sunday (3 days ago) and during the first test drive I was a little dissapointed. It didnt make as much of a difference as people on here said it would. But that was just taking a spin around town on the windy back roads, and my expectations were that it would feel like it was on rails.
However, as i have driven it more and on different types of roads, I am finding it more and more effective. The rear is a whole lot more controlled going around turns and over bumps. Tightens up the handling nicely.
So overall I am very happy. Great "bang for the buck" mod. Just dont expect it to instantly make your car handle like an indy car.
