Race against BIG MOUTHED 92 CIVIC

My friend, with a stock 92 Civic 4 door, with only intake, thought he could take me on just because he was manual. We lined up.. he took the grab on me by 1/2-1 car, after that, IT WAS HISTORY. I had 1 person in my car with me, and he had none. (Not like it was a big deal ) I pulled and pulled.. by 70mph he was at least 10 cars behind if not more.. (NOT EXAGGERATING). In my rear view mirror his 2 headlights made up I say 1/8th of my rear view mirror... I didnt even break torque.. he launched at 3000rpms.. Just had to say racing slow cars is too funny.

your story reminds me of this stupid @ss red civic that kept reving
his engine when he was behind me on a local street...i only wished, and oh boy did i only wished we lined up at light....traffic didn't allow and he turned right shortly....i know one day the opportunity will present itself, just waiting for the day to smoke him...

damn, I should race my big mouth civic friend then. I've ran automatic civics before, they're slow, couldn't keep up after 20km/h(when I get traction). This guy always talks shi t how fast his 5spd civic Hatchback is because its a stick and say he only lost half a car going up against a Si. Next time I see him on the road, hes dead!

I still like racin civics....it still seems alot of people think the civic is a fast car and alot of civic drivers think the same..I mean they do beat other cars on the road and even other v6's. So I figure when they line up w/ a max and theyve never raced one before, they probably think there gonna win..the only reason I mention this is because I often hear maxima people say its stupid to race a civic or whatever because we beat em so badly but the whole point is after the race is over they now see where the maxima is in the whole scheme of motorsports!!! and besides all that, racing is just too damn fun to pass up!! Like I said before,Ill race anyone who wants to race me.

Race him. But the civic i raced has only 100hp.. 2200lbs as he claimed though. He had subs and a half tank of gas, to my Low fuel light on and one person. What modifications does he have?

Just be careful of the few sleeper Civics out there. It's weird, Civics with the outrageous body kits, rims, exhaust, graphics, paint, and lights are usally the slow ones. Civics that almost look stock are usually the ones you have to be careful of. Outside might look stock, but if you open up their engine bay. I say this because a guy at my school has a stock looking Del Sol that doesn't look fast. That is, until he open up his hood and let me see what's inside. He said he runs high 11s. I don't doubt him with all the mods he have. He said he might even join the Maxima caravan when me and a few others head to Mississippi to race in December. I can't wait.

Same here. Your mostly right about those. But isnt it great to race those with the body kits that make them look like they will fly?

Correction to post, it was actually a 91 Civic with the 100hp engine.
Costco Wholesale, those civics should run around mid 16s.. you should pull on him easily. With his mods maybe low 16s, dont count on it though.
