Taking my 2k1 SE in tomorrow for the fuel-cut TSB, and a question...

At first I thought we were just having trouble adjusting to the light clutch pedal. After reading the fuel-cut thread here, I called-up the dealer immediately. I'm crossing my fingers, though. Nissan service guy hadn't heard of the problem.
A question...I am also wanting to get my dealer to warranty the fuel-filler protector parts. Have any of you had any problems convincing the dealer to waranty this? If so, how did you manage to get the parts installed? Did you have to call a Nissan regional rep?

Thanks,
JimC

Took mine in on Saturday for the Fuel-Cut TSB. I called last Monday got the run around. Tuesday they confirmed they had everything necessary, so I scheduled the appointment for Saturday.

Saturday I bring it in and he asks me how I knew about the TSB first. I told them I had gotten it from the NHTSA website. Then after 30-min. he asked me if this was "driveability" issue and I said, YES! I said I was concerned about the wear on my drivetrain components such as motor mounts/transmission mounts and that it was very noticeable(read ANNOYING) in everyday driving especially in traffic. He said ok and disappeared. After two hours they said they couldn't do it(It sat where I parked it for more than 45-mins.). They had "hardware problems" and would get a technician to look at their equipment on Monday(today).

Nissan DIService may have struck again.

Jeeez. Hope my experience goes smoother than that! It p****s me off somewhat that this sort of problem exist at all...especially considering my 2k1 Max was probably one of the last of that year to roll off the line. One would think they would have gotten stuff like this straightened out by now. Guess not.
Oh well. I'll cross my fingers.
