Funny stoplight story with a GTP

I was with the Lady this weekend and we were going to get a movie in her car (2K Taurus). We were at this stoplight at a busy intersection. The road is horrible (bumpy) and there are cops everywhere. Well this GTP lights them up at the light...kind of caught me off gaurd because he looked older and was with his lady too. Well at the next light he was talking to his GF and wasn't watching the light, and I turn to my lady and tell her I am going to take this GTP! She was saying "No don't do it...there are cops everywhere!" So the light turns green and I hit the gas and the tires are screaming for a second and I blow him off the line....and it was great to see the look on that guys face as he lights his tires up, after he is done toast. I let off the gas and let him go flying by while me and my lady are laughing our butts off . He should have just played it cool...but he had to make an azz out of himself with a delayed tire roast.....some funny ****!!!

This actually reminds me of a time that a Maxima tried to race me, we were lined up and I saw him inching forward, and he was trying to time the traffic light for the traffic perpendicular to us and he forgot about the turn on green arrow for the other direction and as soon as he saw yellow he took off right through our read light.

Just remember that squealing you're tires is a display of power ticket worth 4 points and street racing is a 12 pointer plus additional bending over by the legal system. If you really wanted to race him, you should've invited him out to the track on a night that you go to do real racing.

I still don't get it...

Why would you waste your time to come over to a message board about Maxima's from the GTP board to argue a thread like this?

Oh as soon as someone posts smthg about GTP there we go GTP sharks with their teeth come spread their love LOL. To shame you, Grand Prix owners, I am a former owner of a 93 Grand Prix SE for 3 yrs. Got rid of the car because it started falling apart by 100K mi. So I bought a Maxima (gimme props .org ppl)

With all the crap I can say about Ponitacs, there's no damn way a stinky Ford Taurus could have taken even a 3.1L Gr Prix SE. I drove all Taurus and Gr Prix models. As a former GM man, I say I **** on FORD. Now lets hear some bull**** from FORD ppl. Come on, bring it on. Get up to get beat down.

Lets get this story staight....

I did this because he "TOTALLY lit them up at the previous light. Yeah...I caught him off gaurd and that was what made the whole situation so funny. Hell I know better...no damn Taurus is going to take a GTP....and hell he should know that...but he bit on the hook after he was done toast....I hope his GF was impressed! It made me chuckle a little bit, so I thought I would share with my fellow maxima buds. He should have just considered himself lucky he was going up against the Maxima....he would have been toast for sure!

I must have posted this a couple of days ago with no replies....I am glad to see that the search function is working for those who know how to use it!!! Hell even the newbie, lurker GTP owners can use the search function...WOW...they are quite resourceful!

Now I am sorry I shared the story because no one had anything to say until killerGTP found the thread and now everyone jumped on the wagon....oh well....I guess you had to be there to see the humor in it.

I don't see the humor unless you would have caused him to get a ticket for "display" or something. Probably in his eyes you tried to race but backed out because you knew you were going to lose.

I consider anything involving a GTP to be humorous considering how they look. (Of course this is opinion so don't bother flaming me )

OK...I stand corrected

This is not funny...

I don't care if it was a geo metro or a 68 camero with a big block or this guy in a GTP...if you get burnt off the line....just wait until the next light because if you have a one second disadvantage you are toast!

This guy was not some punk kid out joy riding his dads car...if so I would not find this funny....it would be expected! This guy was in his thirties and was out tearing his car up.

I guess I find all street racing funny (and stupid) but when I see an older guy doing this type of behavior it makes me laugh. OK...now everyone "FLAME AWAY" because I burnt rubber too....if you don't find the humor in this.... you are an idiot and I am not going to respond to stupid remarks!

Re: OK...I stand corrected

I'm 33 and I'll race if it's clear. So that's funny? You should attend a muscle car meet sometime. You will see guys w/ 454 hemis and 450hp in their 50's all too willing to tear their car up. It might cost you $50 for them to line up with you though.

Well, only because you asked. I have taken my fair share of GP's (even a GTP or three), and have never lost to a Maxima of any GEN. Put that in your pipe and smoke it

For the love of all things sacred, please delete this thread. I have become more stupid since I read it. I like to hear about a good GTP smackdown just as much as the next guy...but this is ridiculous.

Please, dude. I lost to a 2nd gen Maxima in my 93 Gr Prix SE auto. Thats why I bought a real car, a Maxima. My advise to you, is to sell your domestic old people's car (if you can get something for your ride)and do the right thing.

Real car? Sorry, I'd consider something with German lines more of a "real" car.
Domestic old people's car? What kind of person do you think is the typical Maxima driver?

Don't get me wrong, I'll take the Maxima over the GTP anyday but...wo don't flatter yourself.

First, since you are on the Maxima.org and driving a Maxima, you owe us a duty of loyalty Second, you call VW's a real car? That POS made in Mexico, but hey excuse mou it is a german car LOL. Most of your "real cars" are not affordable for the "regular folk". Third, go on to carpoint.com, and read the review of 2000 Maxima. One of reviewers described the typical maxima owner as a "professional male in his 40's with incomes around $80,000 a year". Some people prefer to have families over a fancier european "real car".

Yes, I can't help it...over the years I have become anti-Nissan.
VW...you found the ONE.
If I can't afford a Maxima, does a Honda Civic become a real car?
Well...the typical maxima owner profile is a shock and relief to me. But again, that's the view of ONE reviewer. To me and many others, it's viewed as a grocery-getter driven my 40s females. In addition, that's what I usually see. But, hey I could be wrong!

then why do you drive a 91 maxima? Trade it in for an 89 civic and be happy with your real car. No further questions asked.

Because it's all I can afford. No point in trading it in now, it'd be a "downgrade"...and I never said that the Civic is a real car. I asked does it become one (since you said the BMWs, etc can't be considered "real" because of their price and thus the Maxima is a "real" car).
Maxima is "real" car because BMW is too much $$$.
So, Civic is "real" car because Maxima is too much $$$?
It's all relative.
