Actually the Regal is the same drivetrain as the GTP. The Boneville is the Pontiac version of the Riviera.

Regal, GTP, Bonneville, Riviera (sp?) are all based on the same platform; either based on the older Aurora platform or a modified version similar to that of the Seville and new Aurora's. Powertrains are 3.8 with or without supercharger.

Those older Riviera's (sp?) do have the 3.8L, but with an iron block/heads vs Iron block/Aluminum heads. They have the same body style and they have the 225HP S/C 3.8. I raced a Bonneville with this engine and beat the crap outta it after 80mph. The newer onces have the 240hp 3.8L S/C and those are quicker than a 2k or 2k1 Maxima auto.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. The Lumina, Regal, Grand Prix, Cutlass Supreme, Monte Carlo are all the same car. They are the GM W-body cars.

The Riviera is dead. They stopped making them in 99. I'm not sure what year was raced, but it's not all that surprising of a win. The Riv is a heavy car supercharged or not.

Here's a link to a page with all of GM's car and the platform letters.
