Redline tranny fluid with STS and Winter!

I have a Stillen STS on my car now and I am starting to find that the shifter is getting really notchy with the colder weather especially when the car is cold. I can't imagine when it starts getting real cold soon enough! Anyways my question is would Redline tranny fluid help smooth the shifting in colder weather? Am I going to find any real benefit of using it throughout the winter? And how often do you have to change the Redline (with normal and some spirited driving) based on miles?

yes..

Redline MT-90 has been a recomendation not only as a synthetic fluid for your normal tranny use, but as a remedy for cold notchy feeling experienced in cold weather climate areas..

Definitely helps. Will no doubt last the life of the clutch.

As for notchiness, even with Redline, I definitely feel my 95SE gearbox is notchy. Does anyone know if this is typical or something earlier 4th gens have. I tried Sighmax's 99 stick with Pacesetter STS (same as mine) and his was Soooooo much easier to shift--and he was calling that notchy. I call that easy shifting... mine is definitely a struggle sometimes, especially 1st and R gears. If I were to guess, I'd say the 99 STS stick required 1/2 the muscle mine does.

yeah, I have the same problem w/ my short throw, what I've been doing lately is starting from 2nd gear, but I just helped "sudz" aka shaun do his tranny fluid change to redline and he says it shifts smoother, so I'm going to do it next week or so, hopefully it'll stop the *****y 1st and reverse gear

I haven't resorted to that, but have noticed that instead of downshifting to 1st, I will often be lazy and just wait for 2nd gear to get it going...

Yeah like he said I think the stuff works great. The only hard thing is actually finding some. But worth the effort to get it in there. It has been like 30 degrees around here like whn i come out to my car at like 4 am to go home at night and no problems at all with what you guys reported.

The local rice shops around me have it in stock. The 1st and reverse can get a lil sticky sometimes so I hope it helps. I will let you guys know my review on this stuff as well.
