One of my junkyards maintains that the only compatible 4AT transmission for my '00 GXE comes from an '00-01 Maxima and an '00 I30.

I thought Altimas and Quests/Villagers had the same tranny.

I really need to find a junkyard tranny. Can you guys halep me out with some compatibility information?

hey man, where are you located? I have a auto tranny from a 2000 with only 40k miles. $350 picked up from Chicopee, MA. LMK if interested.

 

The RE4F04B was the VQ35 4AT, the VQ30 and DE-K are RE4F04A (open diff) or RE4F04V (VLSD).

A 4th gen trans will work, but you'll probably have to swap out the VB with the one from your 5th gen (used to have a 5th gen auto in my car, had to swap out with a 4th gen VB as the wiring is different).

 

I was looking for a trans for my third gen and picked up a RE4F02A from a 90 Stanza. Same part number right? Yes, but the insides are different and it has a different bell housing. I ended up selling it and didnt use it. If I were you I would get one from a 00-01 Max and not a Villager or Altima.
