HID in Fogs (H3 vs H3 mini)

Anyone have the h3 mini or h3c as they call them in there fogs?
For those without the minis, are your hid bulbs hitting the glare shield, bout to buy 6k for the fogs but i was concerned about fitment.
thanks for the help

I admit to not being an expert here, but isn't an H3 bulb a H3 bulb? If the stock H3 bulb fits, why wouldn't a HID H3 fit?

HID bulbs are longer then halogen so they aren't going to necessarily fit, i thought i heard of the hid bulb touching the glare shield

I've had every H3 type out there. The H3C fits perfect, the H3 mini fits good, and the regular H3 fits a bit tight, but will do the job. Although the H3C fits perfect, the color is a little bit off due to the bulb being so small and i believe they only make 6k & 8k for them..anything else..just let me know..

Is the arc in the H3 in the right place (same as H3 Halogen filament) in order to properly focus?

The H3C is the only one that is in the right place, all other H3 HID bulbs, regular/mini, is just a normal hid bulb.

Mine touch the reflector, still don't have a problem, I have 3k now and about to change back to 6k, cant get use to the yellow. By the way, you can get the H3C's from Operatic, that is where i got mine, but like i said, the 6k is not going to match perfectly.

I have no idea how you guys are fitting H3's in your 5.5 gens??

I had to send the h3's back for H3c's -- H3's were WAY too long to fit with the glare shield in place!

...and for those who are removing the glare shield: You've simply created a HUGE GLARE POD!!
Now that's dangerous - let alone, counterproductive.

I guess you could try the H3's, but to me - only the H3c's fit PROPERLY without resting on the shield.

removing the glare shield has not caused me problems. i aim them lower than they should be so not to be in other cars eyes but them being hids still gives me much better vision and distance than the halogens originally in there.

i havent once been flashed. Ive had some one drive my car as well so i could see if they needed to be adjusted lower and such,... and i was in another car. was no glare and at the setting they are at still give great output.

I have regular H3s and they rub on the glare shield but they work just fine. I thought it was going to be a problem but so far so good.

I had regular H3 bulbs in my fogs, but they kept rubbing the shield and shorting out, i switched them out for H3C (from Operatic) and i haven't had a problem since.
