oil leak.from..?

I changed my water pump back in oct..cahnged oil and what no and in aug i did a full tune up and oil change then also..the weather is now cold..and i have developed a oil leak in the same general area where the water leaks from the pump (front passenger side between block and oil pan) and it is more than just a every now and then drip..its for lke every 10 seconds 4 drops hit the ground..and i smell oil in my heating when i have the heat on in the car..any ideas of why or where it could be leaking from or what seal or gasket as probably worn out..?

Sounds like your water pump seals. When mine were failing, oil was leaking from there too (the WP weep hole area), sometimes mixed with coolant. Hasn't happened since i replaced the pump about 2 years ago.

but when coolant and oil mix it has kind of a light brownish color to it i think..the oil coming out is still black...but it was a brand new pump the seals can go bad that quick..? if so i am glad i got a lifetime warrenty on the pump

My leak was strange - sometimes it'd be just oil like yours, sometimes just coolant, and sometimes a thin, nasty mix I'm not really sure about the longevity of the seals. While anything is possible, it does sound unusual for the leak to present itself so soon after pump replacement. Hang on to the receipt for the pump just in case

Where did you purchase the water pump from was It from Autozone or NAPA ect. I am hearing that the Autozone have crapy cheap kind of water pumps. Napa Is not that great either but It's a little bit better than the Autozone brands.

The water pump doesn't sit in any oil channels.
The timing chain cover is normally what leaks.
Check the water pump access cover, you did have that off when you did the pump??
