this is a 97se 5speed and I can't figure WTF is up with my dam Drivers side power seat, it never gave problems after all these years until today, it can recline but when i try to move the seat in a Forward position it wont budge, but when i press it to Back direction, the left side wont move but the right side of the seat can

at first i thought maybe the seat came off the left side rail, cause thats what it feels like but when i look underneath both sides are on the rail


ps- this happened once i got my car back after letting my uncle borrow it for few hours, and i have no freakn clue what he did to it

 

what it usaully is is a coin (dime or nickel) falls down in the track . sometimes you can find it and fish it out but its almost always easier and faster to just pop the seat out .

anyone have any instructions on removing the seat? and how long it usually takes?

 

There are (4) 14mm bolts on each corner of the seat. You have to pull the plastic covers off the two in the back. Takes like 5-10min to pull the seat out.

 

tap on the seat motor with wrench to see if will free up. if it does, will need a
replacement soon. if that doesn't free it up,check the tracks for debris. you really don't have to take the seat out in most cases. (tap the motor near the front of the seat)
