Found That Notorious Clunking Noise

Seems like everyone has a mysterious clunking noise from what sounds like the suspension on the passenger front... I inspected the front end 2 or 3 times before trying to locate the origin of the clunking sound with no luck....Well I decided to look at the engine mounts and cross member since they have been removed before... this is what I found...the front mount which is located on the passenger fender!
http://
I'll fill this with windshield weld and put it on the storage shelf....I've installed a new one and this will be modified.

Thanks for your post, this gives me something to look for, I'm tired of hearing that noise. Is the motor mount replacement difficult? I replaced the mounts on my Altima, but never a Maxima, tips?

would this be the same clunking noise that i hear whenever I pop the clutch and raise hell in my car? it feels like someone is taking a hammer and hitting the bottom of my car when i do this. My exhaust seems tight so I don't know what else to look for. any ideas?

no it took me about 20-30 minutes changing the mount itself! Very easy! Remember don't just look at it flex it, while it's installed with a large pry bar/screwdriver...If you hear noises on the right side and your car is beyond 50K. I would flex that passenger side mount.

What did you have to pay for a new mount?
