safe to use chains on lowered max?

With this snow in the Pacific Northwest, I've been wondering if its safe to use chains( cables or whatever the other type is) on a lowered maxima. Its close to a 2" drop, no more. Thanks

depends on how close your tires are to the wheel wells.
the big issue is the chains rubbing on the fenders and splash guards and whatnot.

If you're running stock wheels and oe size tires, you should have enough fender clearance with chains.

If you're running 17x8 with wide tires (like I do), there's not enough clearance to fart between the tire and fender, and you'll FUBAR the car.
