Black. Do the flashy colors if you have a BBK to show off

Duplicolor high temp engine block paint works great on calipers.

Mine have been done for at least 3 years and still look fresh.

I used the Cast Coat Iron. It's a dark gunmetal color and it only costs $5-6.

Stock brakes are nothing special, especially on the max...

the only reason to paint them is to make them stand out, that being said i'd go with a color people will see. if you don't want people to notice them paint them a dark color...

Well when i did mine i removed them from the car before painting because i was going to install my SS brake lines and do a flush. So it took me longer then most i assume, i also taped everything thing off well because i was paranoid as well...but i ended up doing a better job painting because they were off than alot i'v seen painted on the car. especially the rears. After i painted i added the stickers and clearcoated over them if you were interested. got the emblems/stickers on ebay got 3 sets for the front and 3 for the back for like $10 shipped. any color/style i wanted. i don't have an exact time but if you started in the early AM the calipers should be dry enough to reinstall by the late PM imo. i waited overnight as i have another ride and prefered to have the well set before reinstalling and driving on them. there are plenty of writeups online fwiw...

paint it dark shiny bronze like the one on the brembo on nismo. that won't look too ricy but still noticeable.

Here are some more pics of my max. The first pic in the original post was of the front wheel. Here's another shot of the front wheel and a shot from afar.

Normally, I would paint them myself like I did on my 4th gen. However, when I had my wheels put on at the wheel shop, they said they could paint them for free.

Nice. Yeah.

Note: THESE will ONLY fit on rims that are 16" or larger. So if you go with those make sure they can fit on your car. I saw blue ones for 39.99 and 49.99 on Ebay as well. Just search like, "blue caliper covers" or something. Whatever color your want, I saw yellow, red, blue, and black. Easily found.
Saves the effort of painting. Up to you.

This is a good thread.

go with a flashy silver. Metallic or speckled might even be nice. Silver and white are nice.

The covers give a better cleaner look. Has nothing rice about it. It actually comes out better as a finished product then painting. unless you go proffesional poweder coating.

I would buy a cover actually. As long as it wasn't a fake Brembo or something. Maybe one that said nissan.

Yes that's your opinion. I was thinking it would look better once I added the cross drilled n slotted rotors. Silver and white look off with my white max. Red is pretty much the standard so that's what I went with. I get more people scoping out my rims at stop lights with my calipers painted than before. The hint of red catches the eyes. No one would notice black calipers.

My 2 cents (as a designer as well), I do think red will look good with white, but a medium blue would also be very nice and eye catching if thats what you want. IMO.

Red is a hot color and associated with stop.. so I guess that works for brakes > Blue is a Cool color temp. But looks damn nice if you ask me. Especially with white.

I also think if you have bluish or even just black/dark tints for your windows blue looks better. Unless you have something else red on your vehicle (thought cert. not neccessary).. the red will stick out way too much on the car, taking away from the focus on the car itself making peoples eyes focus almost solely on the calipers whereas Blue, not as much. More of a natural color that matches more things around it and is softer. All depends what you're going for though of course, personal taste, etc.

Anyways.. You should take some pics with whatever you end up with, as finished and final. Post em up.

did you ever consider that people look at them more becuase they go "Oh wow look at the guy who painted his calipers red to look like brembos"

Seriously, Tampa is the rice capital of the world, ive seen so many cars with red calipers its not even funny anymore. Red looks good, but everyone thinks of Brembo when they see read calipers. Its just beging to be called rice.

I cant make you paint them a certin color, but please, dont do red.

Never really associated brenno with red but why paint them anyway if that's the case. Not all of us can blow thousands on brembo kits. Where I stay red calipers are rare. I plan on getting brembo rotors to balance them out anyway once the time comes for my stock rotors to be replaced.
