Found My Baby On Blocks - This F***ing Sucks

Can't believe it happened to me. Got up this morning, happy as usual that I had a reason to drive my MAX. Opened the front door, took a sip of coffee, walked to my car and discoverd some a**holes had raped my Max, took the rims and left it on blocks. Because of the way the placed it the blocks the front fenders on both sides are slightly buckled.
They hit 3 cars in my "safe gated community". I think I'll stop paying the association dues! Pics to come.

Absolutely !!!

So sorry to hear your Maxima has been violated -- in a gated community no less !!! I'd have to agree on bagging the monthly association dues -- at least until the price of the wheels & tires has been covered.

You say the way they put the blocks under it buckled the front fenders ... did the block catch the bottom part of the fenders ??

I hope your insurance company and your Nissan dealer jump on this quickly to get you back on the road.

Again, so sorry !!

Oh Man! This really sucks! I'm sorry for the loss. Insurance will cover it but not the feeling of violation.

Did they just blow past the wheel locks?

Man, a brand new car in a nice community. Those guys deserve to die. Twice.

Jump on a set of wheel-locks for round two.

The responding officer said rims and tires are new thing. Less likely to get caught than if they stole the whole car. Also tires are what they are really after. I had the 18" stock wheels, didn't think they were desirable so did not get locks. Anyway one of the other guys that got hit had locks and they simply over torqued and and snapped the lugs that have the locks.
The worse the economy gets the more this sh** is going to happen.

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!
I could deal with the wheels/tires being stolen, but just putting the blocks under the body roll like that just adds insult to injury.
I feel for you man!
You could probably get a nice aftermarket set for the cost thru Nissan for
replacements.

Damn Bro, I feel your pain, I'm sorry this happened to you. You said you lived in a Gated Community, most communities like that normally have at least one security car that rides around the area every now and again. Does your commune has such security?

Is there such of thing of non-removable or tamper proof wheel locks that can't be over torqued?

I feel for you bro, that sucks. I would make your association pay for your rims/tires since the probably guarantee security. When I go to my parents summer home in Ft.Myers they guarantee the security, so id look into it.

Your usual suspects are probably your immediate suspects. I live in a gated community and this same B.S. happened to my neighbors rides. Found out later that is was three teenagers who was doing it, all lived in my complex. One got busted trying to sell a radio unit the rest sooned followed. I pay my dues, they say I can't do this or I can't do that I say Bollocks to all that if I don't feel safe.

OP, Sorry to hear about your max.
I love how the OEM wheels on the 7gen look so much like my BBS RKs!
(I didnt do it)

What a darn shame! Makes me want to throw up. Sickening.

Someday I will probably go to prison for shooting some tu_d for messing with my car. That is something I absolutely despise. I protect my Maxima better than I do my bank account.

I am lucky in that I keep my Maxima in an oversized, heated garage, with both doors and both windows (as well as the adjacent tool room) hooked up to my alarm system. I also have a a 'glassbreak' detector, which picks up splintering wood or clinking tools, in the garage and hooked to my alarm system.

I also have motion detector controlled flood lights on every corner of the house, and they trip an inside buzzer whenever they detect motion. I have raced to the windows a hundred times, only to see a stray mutt wandering by. But better that than to have someone there and not know it.

**** about my Maxima? '****' doesn't begin to cover how I feel.

Do you have any recommended brands? Up here in New England, we use McGuard.

Wow sorry to see this, I would feel the same. Again at least they took the wheels only... Best bet would be some teens living there as the culprits I heard the same thing happening around this part of town.

Best of luck finding the guilty and getting some new wheels on it!

Thats a damn shame dude, I know most have already stated it, but get the wheel locks, If your insurance company is pretty cool, they will add a few extra $$ onto the bill to get you the locks. You "had" 20" rims right.......? hint, hint. I may be reaching a bit here, but i would get your car onto Jacks right away so the frame is supported correctly, and check the car out all over, i.e. the brakes ect.. a smart thief will not come back twice, but if they made a score on 3 cars in your community, they may feel over zealous so alert your friends so they can shoot the bastards. why don't you keep the car in the Garage??

1) you have a garage and should be using it. i never park my car outside overnight. Gated communities are easy targets fwiw because everyone thinks they are safe. however it shouldn't take long to figure out whose number was used to open the front gate unless they of course scaled the wall...

2) your fenders look fine better pics of the damage?

3) the good news is your insurance company is going to cut you a big check for em. now go buy after markets. 4 new 18s and 4 tires from nissan will be well over 2k maybe even 3k. you can get some nice rims now and some AM goodies now. look on the bright side.

4) your fees you pay for the association arn't only for the gates which you obviously know.

5) whoever said the association should pay him money, and for him not to pay untill they do for the theft of his wheels has no idea how the world works. let alone a gated community. his car is insured. there is no gated community in the world which will guarantee no theft or property damage.

6) i guarantee the person who robbed you has been in the community multiple times before. they probably know someone in there and scoped out a few cars when they were there before. told their boys, and wham-o.

Sorry for the loss and the down time. Sucks!

Had two sets of rims stolen with McGuards then switched to Gorilla locks. Had a new set of tires put on last summer, but the service tech didn't put the key back. Long story short got a flat, couldn't change the tire, they towed it back at their expense and removed the Gorilla's without a key in under 5 minutes. They paid me for new set of locks, but I'm keeping the money in my wallet and my car in the garage.
