A32SHOP.COM - New Year, New Site!

A32SHOP.COM

For the new year we have a streamlined site with a new look. Since 99% of my business is done on the .org (thanks guys!), and I much prefer to have direct contact with my customers, I have eliminated the shopping cart/template. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to contact me via PM, IM, or e-mail.

Plans for 2009:
  • A new build, since I lost the Maxima
  • Imported body/styling parts
  • Wheels
  • Finish up the LED kits, and a couple other things I've been working on

Happy new year .orgers!

thanks guys. i have been working on the led kits for a long time now. i won't speculate on when they'll be complete since i have been wrong every time before (it was supposed to be simple). there are a handful of guys running my prototype boards, but the application specific pwm (dimmer) has taken some time. here's some pics of both designs:

nice looking site. Hey... have you seen then new 745i bmw tails? Any thought on how those would look incorporated into a maxima tail light. Two rows of leds up top lite up all the time... then you hit the brakes and the whole tail lights up? Or maybe with the size of the maxima tail lights just one row might look better?

I was wondering if you think it would be possible to get another row of leds in those tails?

I was hoping someone wouldnt take this idea, lol. I was thinking of trying it out with the 95-96 tail lights. Im thinking its like making your own halo's for your headlights just used on a different application. Dont know when it will happen but Im trying to get something done to the car this year. The wedding and the getting a house part is past so maybe I can get down to some mods again.

that's how the previous version was, and honestly it never paid for itself. this year i will be stocking more stuff and there will be threads in the sponsor's section with all the info/items.the website will only show brands i carry.

Good job Michael. If you don't mind sharing, what's the cost difference in running a full blown website (with thumbnails that blow up to huge pics) and details/info on stuff vs the no fuss website you now have?

Looking forward to your build in '09!!

it probably varies, but the method i was using before costs as much per month as what i will be spending this year. e-commerce hosting vs. basic hosting being a majority of the difference, but then you also have merchant account fees, ssl certificates for safe transactions, merchant account fees to allow your site to process credit cards, and the actual cc service (which i still have). when you're focusing on 1 car, where almost every enthusiast comes through the .org for information, the cost vs. gain isn't there.

of course the current site i have is an extremely simple example of a website. i could, and probably eventually will, make it just as functional as a full website, minus the shopping cart.

Meh, unless he used crappy quality components...it'd be too expensive to stock, which is why people like Gtr_rider and kzoshoo do them as one-offs.

i do some one off projects from time to time but it's not something i advertise. with custom work i really need to discuss it in detail with the customer just because of the nature of the work. i am an extreme perfectionist and sometimes i see stuff that, if i had payed for it, i would be upset. sometimes i can't even build up to my own standards so it's the kind of deal where unless you know me, and ask me to do it for you, and we go over it in detail then i'd rather just not mess with it.
