Hmm, I am not exactly sure where the keyless remote entry module is located on our cars. I believe it is in the trunk by the antenna motor but do not quote me on that.

Is your Maxima a GXE, a GLE, or an SE? Do you have things like a homelink visor? Power seats? Sunroof? etc.

By describing what your car has and what it doesn't have will help us determine via the option packages if it came with keyless or not.

White faced gauges?

EDIT: Nevermind, regardless of it being an SE or GXE, it will not have keyless remote entry unless it has the Security and Convenience package. If your car has a security system, a power drivers seat, a power trunk release, variable intermittent wipers, and illuminated vanity mirrors in the visors, then yes, it should be equipped with a remote entry module.

So if I have Black on Black 1996 Maxima all power, Automatic, black gauges, spoiler, and leather, I should probably have the key less remote. This car is much better than I thought!

Dude, you can probably hook up the Prestige to roll down the windows for you. I have a viper 771, and it has "auxiliary" ports that you can get different modules for. You can get one for a sunroof, windows, trunk, etc.

In the summer, I'm gonna get the module that rolls up and down the windows.

I hope nobody minds if i keep this thread going.

I have a 99 nissian Maxima SE and i have been debating for a very long time if i should get a keyless remote but then some guy told me that if you use it on as a everyday type of thing then it will effect your starter.

Aslo i dont live in the greatest area in the world and i went to the locate audio place around my way and they were like it will be 400 for the viper hook up. Do you think that is a good investment?

I really have nothing in my car now but when it gets warmer i plan on hooking on my 12 inch subs
