If I ran a 3" Pipe, would I lose power....

Let's say I wanted to make a custom exhaust. I would have a 3" pipe running from the cat to a "turbo tube" that acts like a resonator...from there I would have a 2.5" Pipe to connect to the exhaust. Would The 3" Pipe in this setup cause me to lose some of my low-end power ? And could I easily replace the pipe with a 2.5" ? (cost wise, for a muffler shop to do it)

as far as i know thats just and old hot rodders tale, no truth. Sport compact car went over this, and they said 1-3 PSI is perfect but most aftermarket systme stll hole 4-5 so I would have to say your safe..later..

You should do a search on this subject. 3" is good when you have a turbo or an SC. NA your better off running with 2.5.

Deez,

I will be only running a small amount of the piping in the 3" diameter. Not the whole thing. That is why I posted this.

BTW, the turbo tube would be right behind the extra wheel space.
