Confused and in fear of drivetrain trouble!!

Ok guys this ones kinda scaring me and from what I hear Nissan would be of no help. For only about the past 3,000 miles have I noticed this. While cruising at 60 or above there is mild but noticeable vibration that I cant identify to be coming from any certain area. Here's whats got me worried. If you let off the gas and coast it dissapears. As soon as you add any throttle even a little to maintain a speed its back. I had the fronts rebalanced but no effect. My brake rotors are slightly warped, but I dont think that can explain this can it?

I ruled out tires or rotors because its perfectly smooth while coasting 60-80mph. Only when you add any amount of throttle does it become prevelant.

Its vibration from the motormounts. Basically if your car is cruising and its in a higher gear, it will vibrate as u press the accelerator because its in a "cruising gear". I've had this on my older modified car when I upgraded my motor mounts. Its not a huge deal, its not like they are broken or anything. its more like the motor mount is stiffer, and the vibration is carrying forward to the interior of the car.

I have the same thing on my current max, I just choose to ignore it as it doesn't bother me. Turn up the stereo, you wont hear/feel a thing.

You lowered at all?

Bad axles will give you the same symptoms.

Thanks Fiddy Yen! That sounds to me like a logical explanation. Ill try to get a look at motormounts to verify, but til now Ive been completely stumped.

no prob.

I think there might be a recall or TSB on this as well. You should double check.

I checked yesterday to see if there was a TSB on the motor mounts... I was wrong...

But here is a list of the TSB's.

Maybe the axle/CV joint

I have a similar problem with my 2005 maxima, 6sp manual, only 28k miles. Got 4 new wheels, 4 new tires, balanced 3 times, 4 wheel alignment, also had warped rotors which I had machined and the problem still exists.

When I took the car to another mechanic (after 3+ visits to nissan dealership with no resolution of symtoms) he immediately recognized that vibration that is worse with throttle and resolves when you let off the gas is often due to a back CV joint.

Anyway, turns out this doesn't seem to be my problem as my vibration now continues even when I let off the gas. I would have posted a new thread since I am describing a new problem, but as a new user I don't seem to have privledges to post new threads. Anyway, I get vibration, very noticable above 60mph, but seems to improve occasionally at specific speeds (very narrow window). I noticed today that the vibration was improved at 80mph, 88mph, and 100mph. I'm completely lost and confused as to the cause of this (I believe I have ruled out a tire, wheel, or alignment problem as these have all been checked multiple times). Any new suggestions. Sorry for the long reply and not being able to post a new thread.

I could be wrong but its just somemore input. cant hurt right?

I had the same kind of problem on my 5th gen and it ended up being a RF wheel bearing and hub. Jack the car up and shake down the front end, its worth a try.
