are those the pacesetter ones? whatever they are they LOOK nice... but the angles of the manifolds look kinda weird like going in toward the oilpan and whathot. how are you gonna modify them so they fit better? turning the rear collector down instead of back? like an angled cut, then re-weld? if you don't mind taking requests, can we get a direct side shot (i guess from the front and rear of engine)

Looking good, although I would prefer hyperventilation

Their angled toward the rear of the engine for the custom ypipe and plenty of clearance!

Yall may be saying to yourselves what's taking him so long? Well this weekend I forced to work Sat. + Sun. I was looking forward to trying to drop it back it in that lonely engine bay, but my job had plans for me...7 days a week continuously!

I haven't installed My ASP Pulley (OEM size), what you actually see is my UR UDP...I've done alot....Isky Cams, JWT Ecu, balanced bottomend, .5mm overbore, ARP rod bolts, flow matched injectors, JWT POP filter, CAI box in the making, ported plenum upper manifold, UDP, ported and stress relieved block interior, new lifters, and the usual rebuild stuff, headers, Mallory ignition components in the works, 8.5 mm Magencor wires in the works, and custom ypipe in the works!

post pics of the custom y pipe when you get'r done. this looks like quite the interesting setup you're creating. nice work on the headers. and how about some dyno results down the road when you get it in the car.

Don't have my reciept on me right now I'm @ work but ABC Nissan priced them @ $546.25, I think I spent $510 when I bought them about a year and a half ago! This engine is being setup for torque that's why I chose this cam plus the idle is smoother and the other higher lift and duration cam (.450/264*) is setup for higher rpm power!
The exhaust will reflect the same higher torque characteristics by using a 2.25" system for better throttle response in traffic, in town, and not to restrictive on the top end, with the free flowing cat, resonator, and muffler combo! Trying to setup the adjustable fuel pressure regulator and adapter (Nismo) next and waiting on ypipe components!

thats what i was thinking with the short duration and mild lift. im thinking about a set of motorsport cams for my car. similar specs to your cam but im looking for good mid range for the occasional track day and maybe for a future centrifugal blower. 5-6 psi max.

that 'other one' is similar to the JWT stage1 cam (.440"/260*), and the stage2 is .473"/266*. they say it's the biggest cam you can physically fit in the head w/o modifications..... sounds scary . i'd imagine that a good header setup would show alot more gains on those than it would just a stock cam profile, esp since the S2-cammed engine would be able to rev much higher.

Good luck those are regrinds! The Isky cams I purchase are new billets and the larger lift cam available from Nissan Motorsport specs are .430"/262*. Capedcadaver is correct once the cam get to big it won't fit in the head, due to the head cam bearing design!

I have confidence in regrinds, i have installed them in small block chevys with no problem, it is the cheap way out but on a budget engine they work well.
But after much research im going to install a set of 86 z31 cams i have on hand. they have a duration of 256 and 393 lift.

They are custom! Once thru I'll be posting pics of the custom Y-pipe just doing R&D right now to ensure the flow is flawless and the exhaust velocities remain high thru out the powerband, I'm building this with torque in mind and plenty of fun street performance! Once I'm finished We'll see who else is interested in this mod!

I can imagine many, including myself, will be interested in a set of headers that actually function well for our cars.

Might be able purchase for $400-$500 direct bolt on with hardware and gaskets. That's probably to high for most Vg30 3rd gen owners but that's a rough estimate.

Pretty much nothing....other than some high quality flex sections and alot of me and a good friend's time. Most of the tubing is left over from other projects and just getting the fitment together and checking and rechecking it. Made 3 different sizes to get some #'s and what works best with my mod combo! I'll post some pics when I'm through! Might have the ypipe ceramic coated after we're thru evert bit helps here and there! I'm sure I'm be giving some VE's hell...surely the autos!

so you want to put a carburetor in your car?

(I believe you mean forced induction)

no, no "maybe" about it. you will kill the auto pretty soon!
you should start sourcing a ve5 for parts, now, so you can just do it, when it dies(with the work you have done, combined with what you are going to be doing, that auto is gonna fail).

Thanks! It'll be fun I guess or I'll have a built auto behind the scenes waiting for this one to barf!

There's actually a company here in Houston that modifies the VG Auto trans with heavy pieces, modified valve body, etc! Those VG's in the junkyard have alot of new stuff that was recently fixed but the owners were tired of the cars and sold them to the junkyard cause most of those found there have no signs of a collision! I'll be prepared to expect the worst and I'll have one modified for HD usage!
