Yeah I have the exact problem, when I go to school the shift from P to R is very hard and it takes some force to get it to R and then it jerks. But after a transmission flush it got better but still jerky. One thing I came up with was that the car slid when it was in park so the gears got locked or something. Because I live on a hill and so I guess my car slides backwards after a while which would cause the jerky shifting. It went away after I parked somewhere else that is perfectly flat. But its not an option for me

mahanddeem - Just a guess, from what you say it may be CV on driver side, due to the noise - is it like a clunking ? If you're parking on a relatively level spot, that's most likely. Next possible may be trans is worn, needs adjustment. I'm assuming that T-fluid is full for you and Leo too.

Leo - If your paking brake works OK, use that to keep the car from slipping. Put it in D, then release the brake. That should help you.

Really you should always use the parking brake anyway, but no one ever does

Especially if you're on a hill, it's going to be hard to shift it out of park because the entire weight of the car is resting on the parking pawl.

A habit I've made out of every automatic car I drive is when I come to park it, throw it in neutral, engage the parking brake, let off of the service brakes (to let the vehicle's weight rest on the parking brake), then put it in park.

Haha I do use the parking brake its a general rule of thumb. But the thing is that my car still slides even with the parking brake up as high as it can go, and I maxed out the adjustment bolt on my e-brake handle. I think its a bigger problem for me because its on a hill and the e-brake is slipping despite being pulled up with all the force I can.

At first before I fixed it, the handle went up 25-30 clicks in order to at least lock a little, now its at 9-13 but it still slips. I'm guessing I need new brake pads, or re-check the e-brake cable, but from what I saw nothing is bent or broken and so.............................................:go ofy:

OH AND THANKYOU FOR ALL THE SUGGESTIONS! I'll have to find a way to make it lock haha
