Eibach Pro Kit 1 Spring broke!

Eibach being the excellent service and support company that they are have sent the replacement kit. The left front spring broke somehow....they will replace both left and right front free of charge...shipped ASAP too. Just requested pics and return of busted spring.

Was a bit of a shocker though!

wha???? how did you brake that spring. you must have hit a huge bump or hole. what about your strut? if your spring is gone, you must have damaged the strut also..

This has happened on a 5th Gen before too, I hope that no one was hurt.

Don't know if they pay for anything else...I guess I could ask...The strut (KYB GR2) was not damaged. The Stealership charged me $0 for the oil and filter change with my dealer points and also the engine air filter (AEM CAI filter) and charged me $190 for the two springs and another $45 for the front alignment....And that's in Canadian Dollars...I was lucky as the spring broke near the top...did not drive it until it was due to go back for the repair....Had to wait for 1 week for the replacements. They sent me both springs and the first thing I noticed is that the new springs are made differently than the old ones...thicker and heavier. Also painted black with a plastic acrylic clear coat and the rubber sleeve already installed! Car rides smooooth now too. No noise. I was lucky that the break occured near the top...could have punctured the tire or the strut. And I requested that they put the old ones back in the box and we're (my aftermarket parts dealer - Alchemist Performance - here in Montreal) sending them back for the post-mortem...And I did hit a small pot hole while driving around 35 - 40 on the highway service road, however nothing ever large. This was in the front left hand side....most pot wholes here are on the Right side of the road for some weird reason....and 've been lucky, I've always managed to avoid the bad ones as I know the roads really well around where I drive. So there seems to be no logical explanation how the spring failed and yet the struts did not. Rust...cold...who knows?
